Towards the Window

This image was made with nothing but a north-facing window and the subject's willingness to sit in it. No reflector, no diffusion, no fill.

The upward gaze lifts the entire frame. The hand at the ear is incidental, a gesture of self-touch that reads as both absent-minded and tender.

The Figure Study series needs at least one frame that uses natural light exclusively. This one surrenders control entirely and trusts the window.
